Our fabulous new brochure

After a very strange personally distanced Christmas and New Year. January sees us back in full lockdown in Cyprus. We have a curfew from 9pm, can't visit anyone and have to send a text message for permission to go out! Given all of this, the only thing we can do is work on the house and catch up with admin. So far we have done quite a bit of work on our garden, and I have painted the second bedroom. in between these exciting tasks I have now produced a brand spanking new brochure and also updated a lot of the photos on the website. The new brochure is pretty damn good, even though I say it myself - I am quite proud of it. Pop over to the brochure tab at the top of the website and have a browse through - all 156 pages of it. It's a Covid kind of year!

2020 is a year we all want to forget!

Well what a pretty awful year 2020 has turned out to be for us all! Virtually all the previously booked weddings have been moved to 2021, although a few brave couples have been hanging on and hoping that they will be able to travel to Cyprus to get married. Weddings finally started in August and the photo above is from Gill & Steve who bravely held out and finally managed to have their big day! Congratulations to them both, what a lovely photo.

Exciting new products for 2020

Happy New Year to everyone and we are already getting on with orders for you lovely brides that are getting married this year. We have added a lot of new designs for welcome signs, table plans and stationery and you can see these on the new improved website and our new brochure. We also have some exciting new products for this season, some are already on the website, and some we are still working on.

We have been eperimenting with hot foiling technique and it is fabulous - we are now able to print place cards, menus, table numbers, order of service cards etc with lovely shiny metal letters and designs, you can see a sample in the photo above. At the moment we have gold and silver available, but there are plenty of other coloured foils including rose gold which we will be ordering shortly.

We have added some cute little favour jars which are shown on the website. We can print these with a label to your specification and can add a tag and ribbon too if you would like. The jars can be supplied empty so you can fill them yourselves, or we can fill them with sweets for you.

Another new product coming soon, bridesmaids, or groom boxes - or boxes for anyone who you want to give a special gift to. I have ordered the boxes which have just arrived, and they look really good, lovely quality with magnetic closure. We can put names, dates etc on the outside and we can fill them with any of our favours or personalised itemes, perhaps a personalised champagne glass and bottle of prosecco for your maids, a compact mirror etc. We will post sample photos once we have worked on some samples.

Last but not least I have just taken delivery of a big box of mini love hearts, and we can print personalised labels for these which adds a nicce touch to your reception table. Lets hope we can resist eating them before anyone orders some! Photos will follow soon.

One of our new designs

Just when we thought all the weddings were finished for the year we got a call from a local hotel for a welcome sign for a last minute wedding, so you can see the result on the very bad phone photo above. This is one of our new designs and I am pretty pleased how it looked. We are now concentrating on printed a range of Christmas orders - nothing to do with weddings - mugs, cushion covers etc, and a local charity has asked us to print a large number of key rings, fridge magnets and tots bags to use for fund raising.

The wedding season is drawing to a close

We have had a really busy wedding season here in Cyprus, we have printed hundreds of table plans, banners, tons of table stationery and a whole range of different wedding favours! We have been so busy that we have totally neglected our blog due to lack of free time. We are just in the process of making some changes to the website, uploading new designs and deleting some that we either don't like (!) or haven't been very popular. At the same time we are also producing our new glossy brochure which so far contains 76 pages so there is still a lot going on. Keep your eye out for the announcement when the new brochure is published, and don't forget to ask for a copy.

The wedding season has started and we are printing!

The wedding season is underway now in Cyprus, we have lovely sunny weather for all you lucky brides. Our first table plan of the year was put to good use yesterday at a wedding, and even though i say it myself it looked pretty stunning! There is a fairly bad Iphone photo of it here, the photo really doesn't do it justice in real life it was beautifully shiny and glittery! We have just send 3 more wedding signs and an aisle runner to the printers and the orders are coming in so we are getting busy!

Lara Beach – Perfect For Turtle Spotting!

One of the biggest benefits of booking Cyprus wedding packages is that you’re on a ready made holiday so after the wedding , you’re in the perfect place to do a spot of exploring and sightseeing. What could be better?

If you are planning a beach wedding overseas at the moment and wondering what you could do after the big day is done and dusted, make sure that you make your way to Lara Beach in the Paphos district.

The beach is in a protected area and home to some incredible wildlife so if you and your other half love nothing more than checking out local flora and fauna, this is certainly the place to be.

It’s actually one of the best places in the whole of Cyprus to spot green and loggerhead turtles , with a local conservation centre situated not far away. To see turtles arriving on the beach to lay eggs, you need to visit between May and August – and the best bit is that this beach is really secluded and not a proper tourist trap so you could have it all to yourself.

It’s a bit of a bumpy ride down to the beach, however, so you might be better off hiring some quad bikes and charging down to the shore in serious style. Or you can walk from Agios Georgios, but bear in mind that it’s about ten miles… so put your proper walking boots on!

What You Need To Know To Get Married Abroad

Once you’ve found your Paphos wedding planners and know that the wedding of your dreams means getting hitched overseas, you’ll need to do a bit of research before you fly as it’s a little different to getting married at home.

Your first port of call should be the official government website , which has all sorts of helpful guidance relating to getting married abroad. First of all, you should get in touch with the local authorities in the country you plan to say your vows in so you know exactly what you need to do.

As long as you follow the official processes according to local laws, your marriage should be recognised in the UK and you shouldn’t need to register it once you get home again.

To get married in Cyprus, you’ll need to prove that you’re free to do so as the UK won’t issue certificates of no impediment for marriages taking place in Commonwealth countries.

For civil partnerships in Cyprus, you have to register at the high commission in the country. If you don’t live you need to have been there for at least 21 days in order to register the civil partnership and then you need to stay in the country for 21 days.

You also need to prove that you’re free to register a civil partnership, giving notice and signing a declaration. In order to do this you need to have been in the country for at least seven full days. Make an appointment at the high commission to give notice, which will set you back £50. You’ll also need your passports and proof that you’ve been in Cyprus for at least seven full days, such as a passport stamp.

5 Traditional Cypriot Wedding Traditions To Include

When you hire Paphos wedding planners , make sure you ask them about the history of where you’re going to be getting hitched, as it might be nice to consider incorporating a few local traditions into your ceremony. Here are a few Cypriot traditions that might work with what you’ve got planned.

<h2> Food </h2>

One of the highlights of any Cypriot wedding has to be the food, something all guests look forward to. If you want to give a nod to where you’re getting married, consider handing out sugared almonds to your guests as they leave the church or use ceremonial bread at the reception, known as kouloruia.

<h2> Red scarves </h2>

On the day of the wedding, once the bride is in her finery and ready to head off to get married, her parents and bridesmaids wrap a red scarf around her waist to symbolise her virginity, with musicians on hand to play lots of traditional wedding songs.

<h2> Ceremonial headbands </h2>

At traditional weddings, the chief bridesmaid places a ceremonial headband known as a stefana on the bride’s head. The headband itself is usually made from olive branches, vines, lemon leaves, jewels and gold. The best man will also do something similar with the groom.

<h2> Pinning the money </h2>

Here’s a fun one! Partway through the reception, the happy couple hit the dancefloor to have their first dance as newlyweds – and as they do, guests have the chance to pin money to their clothes to help them pay the wedding off and start their new lives debt-free.

<h2> Cookies </h2>

Another easy tradition to incorporate are cookies made from flour, butter and semolina, and filled with delicious nuts like pistachios and almonds. Why don’t you get your bridesmaids and flower girls to hand them out to your guests?
